Celebrating Women in PR

As a Women Owned Business (WBE), we’re pleased to see the many ways Women’s History Month is being observed. One celebration has particular relevance for us: “PR Women Who Changed History: Using Public Relations for the Public Good” is the topic of a free online panel discussion hosted by the Museum of Public Relations on March 11. Moderated by Charmion Kinder, former press aide for Michelle Obama, participants include Muriel Fox, co-founder of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and the first woman to join a major agency as a professional; Barbara Hunter, the first woman to buy a major agency; Dr. Karen Miller Russell; Dr. LaShonda Eddy; and Dr. Donnalyn Pompper.

While the museum is currently closed to in-person visitors, virtual tours of its holdings—the world’s largest collection of historic public relations materials and artifacts—can be arranged. Books, journals, letters, posters, audio tapes, and films chronicle the evolution of the field and the innovative women (and men) who help shape the way we see the world.
